At the time of this article Wall Street seems to be on the mend. However, even if the economy seems to be improving, we must recognize that at the core of the US economy are some very disturbing concerns, such as the unimaginable government debt, the cumulative loss of manufacturing jobs, the trade imbalance, reliance upon Chinese investments, and limited energy resources. I suspect that the events of the past weeks are an indication of further changes to come. I am not a mundane Astrologer, but the recent melt down of the US investment system concerns me because of the tremendous impact it has upon so many people. A quick comparison of the horoscope for the September full moon and the US horoscope (Gem ASC) indicates a number of amazing insights, suggesting that the current crisis in the US market was to be expected. Transit Jupiter was in exact conjunction with the US Sun, suggesting tension resulting from excessive expansion of financial obligations (2nd house). The North Node transit is also conjunct the US Moon, suggesting the driving need of the US government is to re- focus on the public sector. The transit Sun applying to a conjunction with Neptune would also suggest a time of great confusion. However I suspect that this process actually began back during the Reagan presidency, and an Astrological study of that time period would probably also yield interesting results. Neither psychic or a mundane Astrologer, I hesitate in suggesting how the world wide financial concerns will be resolved. However, I can not help but note that the events of September and October may be related to a series of horoscopes leading up to the year 2012. This end date for the Mayan calendar seems to correlate with many Astrological indications of large scale systemic change. I find personal horoscopes much more reliable and predictable, but who can ignore these amazing indications of dramatic change? In mid July 2009, Neptune and Jupiter (in Aquarius) are conjunct and square Mars. In very general terms this suggests large scale potential change related to spiritual or philosophical perspective. I must say that I was quite amazed to see the resurgence of traditional religion in the late ‘90’s and during this first decade of the 21st century. However, in the past year it seems that large non- denominational churches have been struggling to maintain their membership. My over all impression is that people in general are becoming more open minded and willing to consider other less restrictive forms of spiritual practice. I suspect that the July horoscope, and other dates, suggest that the winds have changed, and that people will progressively see spirituality in more humanistic terms and practices. Wiccan type practices seem to be increasingly popular, because of demand, even the US military is being forced to recognize Wicca as a spiritual discipline. I am not advocating Wicca, but because of its deep respect for nature and considering the terrible mess the human family as made of the earth, I would suggest that a focus on any practice that respects the earth may be a good thing. Successfully adapting to a changing world should be an objective for all people. Ideally, individually and collectively we will use energy and other resources in such a way as to not only protect nature but perhaps even help restore nature to its natural wonder. Astrology at it’s core represents each man as an integral part of the natural world, and I suspect that as we are willing to live holistically, we will find a deep connection to nature and a great satisfaction with life. Although as we study the earth we can see that mankind has inflicted massive damage and numerous Astrological events suggest the world is moving to a point of crisis, there is also a suggestion that many people are becoming more conscious and aware, perhaps humanity will awaken sufficiently in order to do the necessary housekeeping and repair.
